01 · Overview & Value Proposition · 5 questions
What the franchise is, who it's for, and why the model works.
Staffing generates more than $125B a year in revenue in the US alone. Very few companies do more than $100M — the rest is done by small and medium-sized staffing companies. The opportunity to build a real book of business is real, and the barrier to entry is the back-office infrastructure — which is exactly what an ApTask franchise hands you on day one.
ApTask is an established brand with Blue Chip clients. It provides the infrastructure to get you started in the staffing business — recruitment, payroll, invoicing, benefits, compliance, ATS, insurance — so you focus on selling and closing.
Common comparables include PrideStaff, Remedy Staffing, Express Staffing, JomSom, SearchPath, and All About People. Compare our economics, infrastructure, and MBE-diversity leverage against theirs.
ApTask offers franchising as "Staffing Business as a Service" (SBaaS): back office, payroll, benefits, invoicing, onboarding, and collection services; world-class recruitment support; and the tools and insurance your clients need to do business with you.
Yes. ApTask is a certified Minority Business with NY/NJ-MSDC and NMSDC. Every dollar your franchise places counts as Tier-1 MBE spend on your client’s diversity reporting.

Revenue splits, margin math, and what ownership can be worth.
*Results vary; not typical. Individual results depend on many factors.
Your share of profits is paid once the client pays ApTask’s invoices. For monies received in a given month, your share is distributed on or around the 25th of the following month — a predictable cadence with transparent reconciliation.
No salary — you own an independent ApTask franchise. In special cases, a draw against future share of profits may be offered based on your background and experience.
You pay all of your business expenses from your own business entity. Consult your accountant on which expenses are deductible.
Yes — see the Franchise Disclosure Document for details. Current minimums are 18% gross margin for C2C / IC placements and 32% for W2; numbers are subject to change per the FDD, and margin above the floor shares favorably with you.
Your share is calculated from the invoiced bill rate, the pay-rate structure, and the margin floor for the placement type (C2C/IC or W2). The Earnings Calculator (aptask.com/franchise/calculator) models the per-hour spread, per-contractor monthly earnings, and direct-hire payouts. For a live walkthrough of your specific numbers, request a discovery call.
A franchisee portal is rolling out to project your future months of profit share based on your number of active contractors and your clients’ payment patterns. Timing is directional — access is confirmed at onboarding.
Yes, subject to applicable law and your Franchise Agreement, after your first year of operation. A 5% transaction fee (minimum $5,000) applies to transfer the agreement; you and the buyer negotiate who pays it.
Yes — the profit-share cascade differs by engagement type, since C2C/IC, W2 hourly, and W2 salaried each carry their own margin floor. The Earnings Calculator (aptask.com/franchise/calculator) shows the full cascade for each engagement type; for deal-specific modeling, we walk through your book together during the discovery call.
You do. Consult your accountant on how to record these expenses and whether they qualify as deductible.
All client discounts, rebates, and penalties reduce the profit pool before your share is calculated.
Collection efforts sit at ApTask’s sole discretion. If ApTask engages collections, you assist as needed, and the cost of collections reduces profits before your share is calculated.
03 · Franchisee Qualifications & Onboarding Process · 8 questions
Who qualifies, what onboarding looks like, and how you launch.
At least five years of sales and business-development experience at a staffing company, a software company (such as Salesforce, ServiceNow or Oracle) or a consulting firm (such as EY, KPMG or Accenture); the desire to be independent and provide world-class customer service; the discipline to set up your own business; motivation to earn more than your current salary and commissions; willingness to take initial risk; and interest in building equity value with an option to sell the business.
ApTask looks for a proven track record — at least five years — of sales and business development in staffing, software or consulting, current earnings above $150K/year, a rich C-level rolodex, a working understanding of the VMS/MSP staffing model, and knowledge of SOW-priced staffing.
State-dependent — usually 20 to 40 business days from first conversation to active franchise: an initial call to learn about the offering, a franchise application with your company name, an FDD review with your legal counsel, signed agreements, and a first-year check of $1,001 (the $1 franchise fee plus a $1,000 software fee, covering email, phone, business card, and CRM access).
A standard background check and drug test.
No.
Consult your attorney to review your contract before deciding whether you can purchase a franchise opportunity from ApTask.
Yes, subject to applicable law. See the Franchise Disclosure Document for the specific causes and termination provisions.
Yes — ApTask prefers a separate legal entity. Consult your attorney or accountant on which structure fits; there’s no requirement for a specific entity type. You need an EIN and a business bank account to receive your share of profits.
04 · Competitive Edge & Flexibility · 10 questions
How the ApTask model compares to going independent or franchising elsewhere.
Yes. ApTask can run payroll and provide recruitment support in more than 125 countries, so your franchise can sell across borders without standing up a local entity.
White-collar roles across information technology; accounting, finance, bookkeeping, and admin; engineering and clinical; healthcare; and other professional roles. ApTask does not currently support blue-collar or light-industrial requirements.
Yes — no required office, no commute, no real-estate burden. Your business runs on the phone, email, ATS, and CRM access ApTask provides, from home, a vacation home, or anywhere with a stable connection.
Yes. On pass-through business, ApTask waives the recruitment fee and charges a flat 10% for C2C/IC or 20% for W2 placements. Any margin above those splits sits 50/50 between franchisee and ApTask.
Yes. Any applicable VMS tool cost (Fieldglass, Beeline, etc.) is applied and reduces the profitability of the transaction when calculating your share.
Yes. Profit-sharing terms for MSP engagements are discussed and mutually agreed before either party commits to the project.
You can hire additional sales people and pay them from your entity, either running payroll directly or funding ApTask-run payroll before each cycle. For every additional salesperson you hire, ApTask awards five additional exclusive Fortune 2000 clients to your dedicated list; if that salesperson leaves without securing an MSA from those five, the clients are suspended, and any client already under an active MSA stays yours.
No — providing recruitment services is ApTask’s responsibility. That’s the operational lift you avoid by joining the franchise system.
You decide your own hours and vacation cadence. See the Franchise Disclosure Document for the minimum days of operation and related obligations.
No — but you cannot hold an alternate job while serving as an ApTask franchisee. See the Franchise Disclosure Document for the full participation obligations.

Payroll funding, compliance, tech, back office — what ApTask runs for you.
ApTask’s insurance broker can help guide you, or you may go to the open market to procure your own. Cost depends on carrier and coverage level.
Of course — but you pay for the space from your own business entity.
Yes. Insurance requirements are specified in the Franchise Agreement — see the FDD for details. You do not need to carry insurance for contractors placed at your clients; that coverage sits with ApTask.

Yes — each franchisee and every sales person you bring on receives a branded @aptask.com email address.
JobDiva — the same enterprise-grade ATS ApTask’s internal recruiting teams use, with full job tracking, candidate-submission workflow, and client-portal access.
Dedicated recruitment capacity depends on your active workload and number of open positions, and is calibrated alongside requisition volume as it grows.
Yes — beyond state and federal tax filings (consult your accountant), there are additional reporting requirements. See the Franchise Disclosure Document for the full list.
Yes. ApTask may also, at its sole discretion, issue press releases using your name. As a franchisee, your contact information may be disclosed to other prospective buyers while active and after you leave the system.
Yes, on an as-needed basis, subject to space availability.

06 · Client Strategy, Ownership & Territory Rights · 7 questions
Client ownership, territory rules, and how you protect what you build.
Not geographic. You select five Fortune 2000 companies anywhere in the country as your dedicated-client list; small and mid-size clients in any geography are open for anyone. Once you secure MSAs with three of your five dedicated clients, five additional exclusive clients become available.
The existing franchisee holds the client for up to one year of exclusivity. If they secure the MSA, the client stays with them; if not, it becomes available to you. You can also propose a co-pursuit and revenue share, at the existing franchisee’s discretion to accept.
ApTask holds the MSA legally, but if you secured the client, you’re the operational owner. If another franchisee wants to do business with your client, they need your consent (which you can’t unreasonably withhold), and you receive 2.5% of the revenue generated above the standard margin floor (18% for C2C, 32% for W2).
Generally, no. In certain cases permission may be granted, and ApTask shares the recruitment fee 50/50 with the franchisee, at ApTask’s sole discretion.
5% of the bill rate is deducted from profit calculations when you place into an ApTask-owned national account.
Handled case by case, at ApTask’s sole discretion.
You can send gifts that are legal, permitted under the client’s MSA and rules of engagement, and compliant with applicable law. ApTask does not reimburse these expenses.
