Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced AKS / Platform Architect to design, implement, and manage Kubernetes-based platform solutions on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in multi-region AKS deployments, GitOps practices, ingress management, identity and access control, and observability to enable scalable enterprise container platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Design and architect multi-region AKS solutions aligned with organizational availability and disaster recovery requirements Implement and manage GitOps workflows for infrastructure and application deployment automation Configure and manage ingress controllers and load balancing solutions for secure traffic routing Design and implement identity and access management solutions using Azure AD, RBAC, and pod identity Establish comprehensive observability solutions including monitoring, logging, and distributed tracing Architect platform services and abstractions to enable developer productivity and operational excellence Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable platform architecture Provide technical leadership and mentoring to platform engineering teams
Required Skills & Experience
Multi-region AKS: Expertise in designing and deploying AKS clusters across multiple Azure regions with proper failover, load balancing, and data consistency strategies GitOps: Hands-on experience implementing GitOps workflows using tools such as Flux, ArgoCD, or similar solutions for declarative infrastructure and application management Ingress: Advanced knowledge of Kubernetes ingress controllers, API gateways, and traffic management solutions for routing and load balancing Identity: Deep understanding of Kubernetes identity and access management, Azure AD integration, RBAC, pod identities, and service accounts Observability: Expertise in implementing comprehensive monitoring, logging, alerting, and distributed tracing solutions using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Jaeger, or Azure Monitor Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKAD, or equivalent) strongly preferred Minimum 5+ years of Kubernetes and container platform architecture experience
Physical Requirements
The successful candidate must be able to sit for extended periods, use a computer workstation, and participate in video conferences. Ability to travel for client meetings and training sessions (up to 25% annually) is required.
