Position Overview
As part of the Sales Compensation Team, the Sales Operations Compensation Analyst will have a key role in shaping incentive compensation strategy, driving transparency and effectiveness of compensation plans, and building a strong consultative relationship with the global sales organization. This individual will partner with Sales Operations Leadership to develop metrics and analysis to measure success of compensation programs, automate operational processes, and invent new ways of diving deep with data to uncover actionable business insights. The successful candidate has broad technical skills, strong financial acumen, deep analytic experience and a passion for driving operational excellence
The Sales Operations Compensation Analyst performs staff support activities needed for the development, implementation, communication and administration of sales commission or incentive programs, plans. Performs cost analysis or modeling of alternative commission/incentive plan design or quota levels. Works cross-functionally to resolve any calculation disputes/issues.
What you ll do at Insight
Ongoing review, update, and maintenance of commission database used to track & compute variable compensation and set sales quotas
Ongoing review and analysis of compensation plan changes
Provide subject matter expertise of department policies, processes, and systems
Provide instruction and training to other departments on use of departmental systems
Interact with end users to better understand incentive compensation issues and provide recommendations to help improve the incentive compensation process and strategy
Financial analysis including performance to sales quota, reconciliation, and review of GP at rep and organizational level
Proactively identify and articulate opportunities to drive operational efficiencies and increase profitability, including modeling and forecasting improvements (as-is and to-be) with supporting metrics/data
Support and perform ad-hoc research and analytical projects including project design, data collection, data modeling, analysis and effective presentation of results or special assignments as required
Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.
Perform cost analysis or modeling of alternative commission/incentive plan design or quota levels
Create insightful analysis, reports, and dashboards to improve compensation administration
Define and develop key sales compensation support systems/processes required to meet the rapid growth of the business
Be an expert in compensation analytics tools required to support Sales and Sales Operations.
Prepare ad hoc analysis & participate on projects as needed.
What you ll need to join Insight
At least 2 years of experience in Sales compensation, Sales Operations, Business Insights & Analytics, Finance or related quantitative functions in a large scale multi-geographical hi-tech Sales Organization
Expert knowledge in one or more functional areas such as Enterprise Planning, Sales Productivity and Readiness, Sales Enablement, Sales Operations
Highly organized, detail oriented, and ability to solve problems through analytical reasoning
Ability to write reports and/or business correspondence and to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of sales representatives and sales management
Ability to conduct sophisticated and creative analysis of complex data and translate the results into actionable deliverables, messages, and presentations
Extensive and advanced knowledge and experience in Microsoft Excel (model building, use of advanced formulas and arrays, pivot tables, data manipulation)
Customer service oriented with the ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization to solve problems.
